Los legendarios Metallica nos han tenido harto tiempo esperando su nuevo disco, el sucesor del St. Anger. Y a pesar de lo difícil que está resultanto hoy en día lidiar contra la amenaza de la gratuidad de internet (y sin olvidar las históricas demandas a Napster años atrás), Metallica comentó hace solo unas días atrás, que están considerando abrirse a la posibilidad de ofrecer algo de su material. El punto es que nos han sorprendido al anunciar que en su nueva página, una suerte de "oficial alternativa", llamada Mission Metallica (http://www.missionmetallica.com/) , donde ofrecen a sus fans extractos de su nueva producción, que según el propio Lars Ulrich, no se parecerá a nada de los que ha hecho el grupo en su historia. Y efectivamente, hay un video super producido con un trozo finamente editado, que muestra a los músicos en un estudio, como grabando, ensayando o algo así.
No podíamos esperar otra cosa de Metallica. Aqui no hay nada entregado al azar o incondicional, como ya lo han hecho Radiohead o Nine Inch Nails. Hay solo un afán de emular youtube, pero sin espontaneidad y simulando compartir material, cuando en realidad lo único que hacen es aumentar aún más las ganas de conseguir el disco entero.

Creo q sera un sonido muy parecido al St. Anger y lo mas probable es que suelten unos temas gratis pero la idea sera que la gente prenda con esos temas para luego comprar el disco completo , igual este disco nuevo podría tener sus canciones buenos como las hubieron en el St. Anger pero no creo que sea nada extraordinario me refiero a que no dejara huella como si lo hicieron con otros discos inolvidables.

ojala que valga la pena tanta espera, ya con esos dos temas que salieron el 2006 en japon, se dio a conocer que este disco podria ser muy bueno si es que seguian por ese camino, pero la verdad es que han hecho esperar demasiado, yo personalmente soy un fan de metallica y no hallo la hora de que salga el nuevo disco.
Acabo de escuchar lo que pusieron de Metallica... yo no se si esto vaya a cambiar la historia de la banda en cuanto a sonido, de hecho no soy fan de la banda y solo conozco temas sueltos... claro que me inyecté su resto cuando vi el documental "Some Kind of Monster". Y justamente ahi vi cuando se jactaban de su triunfo sobre Napster.
Recuerdo mil comentarios en su programa sobre como los sellos van muriendo, los artistas que se cambian de disquera, y las nuevas formas de distribución de música, y me parece que Metallica en el fondo ya se acomodó, todo esto es para generar expectativa x su nuevo disco, y que entren en la página, etc...
Finalmente pienso que, como todo el resto, a Metallica no le quedará otra que entrar en este juego de nuevas formas de distribución de música, era inevitable que cayeran en esto, las cosas ya no son como cuando lanzaron el St. Anger, y eso de "venderse" es una palabra muy antigua y trillada, no es x defender, pero insisto, no queda otra...

lo primero es lo primero: el sitio Mission metallica obviamente es para promocionar y generar expectativas con el nuevo disco que, sacando cuenta no es tan demorado (St. Anger salio el 2003 y el ultimo disco en estudio habia salido el 1998 Reload) 5 años entre discos con material fresco. ahora del 2003 al 2008 estan los 5 años de espera. del black album 1991 al Load fueron 5 tambien (1996) asi que el tiempo de demora no es problema. mas se ha demorado Axl Rose jejejeejjee
lo de MetallicA abrazando internet es obvio, no por estar en contra de algo no vas a ocupar esa herramienta cuando la industria musical mundial está haciendo agua por todos lados. apoyé a Metallica en su lucha contra napster,por una razon de principios, es obvio que estos tipos no necesitan mas plata, pero creo que todos valoramos nuestro trabajo y nuestras ideas y nadie las da gratis por la vida o la gente que trabaja lo hace gratis? el dividendo no se paga con desgargas ni con ideas, es "triste, pero cierto".
la pilleria del asunto en la pagina Mission metallica es que una vez que el disco esté afuera, el mismo material que se ha visto en ese "Metalli-tube" estará disponible en extenso en DVD en edicion especial que acompañará al disco, haciendo tentadora la opcion de comprar el disco fisico en su estuche con excelente presentacion cosa que los fanaticos coleccionistas estarán felices.
lo de los temas nuevos, es raro, porque de los 2 temas mostrados durante el 2006 ("The new song" y "The Other new song") no aparecerán en el disco por lo menos de la forma que fueron mostradas en vivo, puede que algun riff o parte de uno de esos temas se asome en el disco nuevo, pero todo es especulacion hasta tener el disco completo en nuestras manos, al igual que la idea que Metallica está haciendo el disco "inspirado" o sucesor de Master of Puppets. James Hetfield en una entrevista a la Rolling Stone hecha el miercoles 14 de mayo antes del primer show de la banda, dijo que, si bien escucharon el disco(MOP), se inspiraron en él para captar la escencia de ese album pero que la intencion no fue hacer "master of Puppets Parte 2", Metallica nunca ha repetido un disco (excepto por "Load y "Reload" que son 1) al igual que como System Of A Down sacó Hypntize y mesmerize) y el disco nuevo que aun no tiene titulo, puede que pa la mayoria suene a un "St. Anger" 2, pero al solo escuchar 15 segundos de un par de temas la especulacion es mucha, pero la critica que mas se le hizo al St. Anger fue la tarreria de bateria que suena ahí, pues eso ha quedado en el pasado porque Ulrich NO olvidó dejar la bordona puesta en su caja y por lo que se escucha, la caja suena decente. jejejeje. y los solos de Kirk están de vuelta para los purista del rock, esos que dicen que el rock TIENE que llevar solos de guitarra. esos mismos puristas que olvidan que el rock es reveldia y romper las leyes y Metallica ha roto cada norma que ha querido porque inventaron un estilo que no existía y se dan el lujo de complacerse a ellos mismos antes que a un fan, ese fan que desde que sacaron su primer disco les gritó "vendidos!",
y bueno en septiembre se abre la temporada "critiquemos a metallica porque sí" siendo bien mal agradecidos con una de las bandas que nos ha entregados discos para mantener nuestros ingratos oidos tapados por poco mas de una hora durante mas de 20 años.
a ver si alguna banda tiene la trayectoria y los logros que Metallica contruyó en una carrera larga hacia la cima si quieres rock & roll. como dijo AC/DC
